Although the family of Virginia (Wright) Sullivan are saddened to announce her passing on November 14, 2017 at the age of 93, they are rejoicing in the that she is now collecting all of the rewards she has garnered from faithfully following in God’s word her entire life. Mrs. Sullivan was a long-time member of the Rock Springs community and active in the Enon Missionary Baptist Church until her long-term illness required moving to Tennessee to be close to her family. Mrs. Sullivan was born in the Rye community the daughter of Clyde and Esker (Adair) Wright on November 8, 1924. She was the loving wife of the late Reverend Homer Sullivan for 64 years. Adored mother of C.L. Sullivan (Kim) of Columbia Tennessee and John D. Sullivan who preceded her in death. Cherished grandmother of Kathy (Tom) Spirito of Mount Juliet, TN, Jennifer (Bill Castleman) George of Ludlow, KY. David Sullivan of Baltimore, MD and Beth Deprow of Dyserburg, TN.
Mrs. Sullivan is survived by her sister Syble Vinson and brother Daymon Wright both of Rye, Ar. Along with three great grandchildren Matt, Nik and Brandon, her daughter in law, Linda King of Ripley, TN and a special nephew, Gene Sullivan. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and extended church family and friends.
In addition to raising her two sons, Mrs. Sullivan was a beautician for most of her career, but what she considered to be her real role was witnessing for the Lord’s work. She served in several roles in many churches that her husband pastored in the Indiana area. Most often Sunday School teacher, pianist and organist. She loved singing and worshiping through music especially when singing with her family.
Services will be at 2:00 PM at Enon Missionary Baptist on Friday November 17, 2017 and visitation will be Thursday at Stephenson Dearman Funeral home in Monticello Arkansas from 5-7 pm. Pallbearers will be Matt O’Whene, Nik George, Brandon George, DeWayne Wright, Bruce Wright, and Tom Spirito. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Daymon Wright, Keith Wright, Jeff Wright, Mark Vinson, Carlton Wright, Jeremy Vinson and Bill Castleman.
She will be missed greatly by all that knew and loved her. In honor of her memory, the family requests any memorials be made in her name to the Enon Missionary Baptist Church in Rison, Ark.
