Robert Devon Marter, age 85 of Collins, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, AR. He was born July 17, 1932 in Monticello, AR to the late James Ezra Marter and Gertrude Jane Griffith Marter.

He was retired from Burlington Industries and a member of the Dermott Assembly Of God Church. Mr. Marter played several musical instruments and loved music and singing his favorite hymns. He was a very loving husband, daddy and papaw, was a friend to many and stranger to none. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Devon Marter; two brothers, J.W. Marter and James Lafayette Marter; a grandson, Timothy Edward Rhodes; a granddaughter, Tabatha DiAnn Rhodes; and a son-in-law, Carl Morris.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ruby Ann Vance Marter of Collins; two daughters, Patricia Ann Morris of West Monroe, LA and Melissa Marter England and husband Ronald of Osceola; a daughter-in-law, JoAnn Marter of Monticello; six grandchildren, Amanda Hudson (Shayne), Andrea Proffitt (Jesse), Angela England (Kerry), Anna Ellis (Randy), Bud England (Jordan) and Ashley Morris; and sixteen great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Sister Marilyn Sander officiating. Burial will follow in Union Ridge Cemetery.
