Joshua Charles Martin, age 25 of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born March 26, 1992 in Monticello, AR to Willie James Stanley and Bridgette Martin-Freeman. He was a 2010 graduate of Monticello High School. Joshua was a lover of football, especially the Green Bay Packers but, most of all, was also a lover of Jesus. He had an infectious smile and left an unforgettable impression on everyone he met. Joshua was a former employee of Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Funeral service was his passion. He was preceded in death by Charlie Jones (Grandfather), Charles Stanley (Grandfather), Willie Jones (Great-grandfather), Emma Jones (Great-grandmother), Ernestine Stanley (Great-grandmother), Iona Turner (grandmother), Pierce Martin (great-grandmother), D’Angelo Martin (Cousin); and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins. Joshua leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Bridgette (Gary) Freeman; his step father, Gary Freeman who he loved dearly; his father, Willie Stanley, Sr.; four brothers, Aaron Martin, Willie Stanley, Jr., Derrell Freeman and Jermell Freeman; four sisters, Genesis Freeman, Nisha Stanley, Kaprina Freeman and Breauna Freeman; seven nieces, one nephew, and a host of cousins, aunts and uncles. Also surviving is a very special friend, LaRonda Gossitt (Austyn James Mooney); a grandmother, Effie Dean McGary; and a special grandmother, Ruby Miller. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
