Shirley Jean Pippin Cox, age 78 of Monticello, went to be with her Lord on March 26, 2018 at her home. She was born May 5, 1939 in West Virginia to the late Arthur Pippin and Viola Deaver Pippen.
She was the widow of James V. Cox, homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Assembly of God Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sheri Cox; four brothers, Buck Pippin, Keith Pippin, Thomas Ray Pippin and Junior Pippin; and one sister, Janet Hunt.
Survivors include one daughter, Rita Cox Thomason of Monticello; one granddaughter, Candice Cox Cater of Monticello; one grandson, R. J. Thomason of Hot Springs; a great-granddaughter, Braelyn Cater of Monticello; a great-grandson, Brody Cater of Monticello; a daughter of her heart, Jeanie Donaldson of College Station, TX: four sisters, Fern Fincher (Charlie) of Monticello, Lula Reid (Danny), Sue Pippin and Judy Starkey of Indiana; two brothers, Charles Pippin of Indiana and Paul Pippin of Florida; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2018 at Oak Grove Assembly of God Church with burial to follow in Enon Cemetery. Visitation 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
