Robert Lavon 'Diddle' Young, Sr., 74, of Wilmar, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011 at his home. He was born November 6, 1937 in Wilmar.

He retired from White/Abston Oil Company and Burlington Industries and was a Christian. He loved to hunt, fish, was a bull riding fan and a retired volunteer fireman. He was the son of the late D. C. 'Tab' Young and Edna Glennon Young and was also preceded in death by one brother, C. M. 'Speck' Young.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Wanda Cummings Young of Wilmar; one son, Robert Lavon 'Von' Young, Jr. and wife, Sandra of Wilmar; two daughters, Tammy Stafford and husband, Robert of Barkada and Beth Davis and husband, Bruce of Monticello; two sisters, Vivian Brewster of Wilmar and Sue Guice of North Little Rock; one grandson, Brandon Stafford and wife, Anne of Little Rock; four granddaughters, Kristy Lynn Young of Monticello, Kerri Beth Sledge and husband, Kirt of Little Rock, Nikki Young of Conway and Kailyn Davis of Little Rock; three great-granddaughters, Olivia Grace and Addi Kate Stafford of Little Rock and Averi Sledge of Little Rock, his beloved dog of 17 years, Missy and a host of nieces and nephews.
