Ruby Jewel Wells, 84 of Monticello, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 at the Woods Nursing and Rehab Center in Monticello Arkansas. She was born May 8, 1929 to the late Jim and Clara Miles Keeton. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, James S. Wells; a brother, Marvin Keeton and three sisters, Nellie Sanson, Gladys Snow, and Gracie Rial.
She was a long time member of Rose Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she will be remembered for her dedication and love for the church and its members. She loved to sing in the choir, and was well known for her spaghetti that she would bring to many of the church occasions.
She retired from Burlington Industries, only to go back to work for Burlington for several more years, until retiring permanently after 30 plus years of service.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis Wells (Londa) of Springdale, Robert Wells (Melanie) of Monticello; three sisters, Sug Orrell of Monticello, Regina Engles of Gardner, KS and Francis Coulter of Merriam, KS; one brother, Dale Keeton of Vienna, VA; three grandchildren, Jason Wells of Odessa, TX, Elizabeth Pritchett of Wichita, KS and Andria Netherton of Springdale, AR; two “honorary grandchildren” Kevin Yeiser of Memphis, TN and Kristen Lively of Arlington, VA; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
