Vance Ray Swayze, 63, of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Monticello Health Care in Monticello. He was born December 23, 1945 in Lake Village.

He was a Rehabilitation Counselor and a Methodist. He was the son of the late James Lee Swayze and Myrtis Ruth Dungan Swayze and was preceded in death by one brother, Earl Lee Swayze and one sister, Nina Ruth Pamplin.

Survivors include one son, Shannon Diotte of Sheridan; two step children, Mike Swayze and LeAnn Tucker, both of Green Hill; two brothers, Phillip Arnold Swayze of Centerville, VA and Charles Swayze of Collins; six grandchildren.
