The Merritt family was very fortunate to have this delightful lady cross our path. Mable was an inspiration to all of us. We lost our mother (Betty Merritt) in 1988, and my dad (Bill Merritt) married Mable several years later. Mable came into our family with grace and always made us feel welcome to their home. Our children and grandchildren loved her as well. Mable was a blessing to all of us. She will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Harris was one of the best women I ever had the pleasure of meeting. My dad Thomas Guthrie worked for her at the post office in Wilmar untill his retirement and our families had became friends. She was a great woman and will be missed.

Carroll & family, it's hard to know just what to say at this sad time because your loss is so great and because your mother will be missed in so many ways. She was such a wonderful person & teacher, & leader. Always with a smile & a helping hand. Even though no words can truly comfort you & your family, perhaps they can in some small way, express the depth of care & concern that is felt for you now. She will be missed greatly.

  14. Carole (Johns) Rushing
Carroll and family, I could never find the words to express my sorrow at your great loss, such a loss for all of us. She was truly one of a kind and made such lasting impressions on all of us that she taught at Wilmar School. She was our teacher, mentor and friend for life and many of us were in touch with her on a regular basis. Few people are gifted with the abilities that she had for touching people and making them better for the contact. She was indeed a truly gifted, special person and we shall all miss her so much. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. May God bless you with the peace and comfort that only HE can give.
    Carole Doss (Johns) Rushing
