He was the widower of Pamela Ann Jolley Smith and was a paint and body technician having worked for A1 Body Shop and Lucky's Chevrolet for many years. Lewis was a member of Corinth Baptist Church, a member of the NRA, enjoyed hunting and fishing, loved his work, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a brother, James Kenneth Smith.
Survivors include one daughter, Connie Lynn Smith Wilkerson and husband Tommy, Jr. of the Valley Community; one brother J.W. Smith and wife Pat of Monticello; five grandchildren, Cheyenne Wilkerson, Celina Wilkerson, Jordan Wilkerson, Johnna Carpenter and Megan Wilkerson; three great-grandchildren, Cade Hatcher, Gavynn Boothe and Braven Wilkerson; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 16th Section Cemetery by Rev. Larry Donaldson and Rev. Randy Cauley. Arrangements by Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home.
