Mary Virginia Davis Kitchel, age 73 of Monticello, passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 at Belleview Nursing and Rehab in Monticello. She was born August 5, 1943 in Monroe, LA to the late Daphney Scogin and Mary Free Scogin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Davis; a brother, Ray Scogin; and a sister, Nancy Smith.

She was a retired employee from Burlington Industries and Walmart. Mary was a Christian and was of the Assembly of God faith. She currently attended Christ Church.

Survivors include her husband, Herman Kitchel of Warren; one daughter, Sandra Ollar and husband Kevin of Monticello; three sons, Bruce Davis and wife Beth, Bobby Davis and Michelle Hammons and Bryan Davis and wife Brandy all of Monticello; one brother, Robert Scogin of San Antonio, TX; two sisters, Ann Williams and husband Terry and Judy James and husband Wesley both of Monticello; three step daughters, Jeanell Nichols and husband David of Rye, Stephanie Jester of Jackson, MS and Dorothy Ball of Strong; two stepsons, Allen Kitchel and wife Jennilyn of Waco, TX and Bobby Kitchel and wife Kirkey of Vanceburg, KY; eight grandchildren, Todd and Andrea Brown, Amanda and Craig Moore, Ashley and Jeremy Holdcraft, Kailyn and Zach Craig, R.D. Davis, Drake Davis, Olivia Davis and Jordan Hammons; seven great-grandchildren, Eden, Eli and Juliana Brown, Jaxon Holdcraft, Pacen and Braylin Moore and Canyon Craig; eight step-grandchildren, Kristen Kitchel, Leslie and Blake Young, Dustin and Jessica Jester, Derrick Nichols, Matthew Johnson, Katie Kitchel, Shannon Kitchel and Cody Kitchel; six step-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial in Rash Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
