He had many friends and was very fond of his classmates of Drew High School, especially his graduating class of 1969.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 32 years, Dorothy Clifton Foster; two sons, Tyronne (Yolanda) Stanley of Dallas, TX and Dedrick (Tiffany) Shephard of Little Rock; two daughters, Jerrilyn Foster of Arkadelphia and Latrice Foster of Mobile; five sisters, Mary Foster of St. Louis, MO, Christian and Classis (Clarence) Green both of Pine Bluff, Rosetta Foster of Monticello and Barbara (Clifton) Richardson of McGehee; four brothers, Elder Melvin (Mary) Foster, Troy (Rose) Foster, Charles (Willie) Foster, and Larry Foster all of Monticello; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; father in law and mother-in-law, Brenda (Donald) Freeman and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

My cousin, Dee Dee and the Foster Family...

I am deeply sorry for the loss of your loved one -- and yet we know...

There is an appointed time for every event under heaven...A time to weep, and a time to laugh, a time to mourn, and a time to dance.

Occasionally a time of mourning enters our lives, sometimes stealing in almost silently, sometimes brashly breaking down the door to our well-constructed sense of security. Neither path reflects nor distorts the fact that God loves us. But tragedy and mourning are both part of the ebb and flow of the "rhythm of life."

Rest now Jerry Don... thank you for being my friend.

If Jerry Don Foster learn anything in this life he learned how to love he was full of the virtues of humility, integrity wisdom and holiness and these virtues were grounded in his creator and taught to him from generation to generation starting with his great grand parents Lucie[ Lambert] an Henry miller he developed these virtues by showing faith in his life. he did what our creator asked us to do.

Dear Dorothy, I first wrote in the guestbook before the obituary was posted because I know some of Jerry Don's siblings. I did not make the connection until I saw you at Walgreen's tonight, and it dawned on me that this might be your husband. I came home and immediately pulled up the obit to see if he was. I am so sorry!! You and your family have my sympathy at this most difficult time. You will be in my prayers!

God truly blessed us when he made Mr. Foster. He was the friendliest man I have ever known I don't think he ever meet a stranger and if he did he made them feel WELCOMED at all times. I can remember him as a child coming by to visit my parents he always made us laugh :)))) He would speak no matter where he saw you and hold up traffic in front of my grandmother's house til he got what he had to say out. LORD BE A COMFORT TO THE FAMILY AND MAY THE LORD REST IN HIS SOUL!!!!
