Margaret Ann (Barnes) Graves, age 86 of the Green Hill Community, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. She was born November 12, 1929 in Drew County, AR to the late Edward A. Barnes and Sally Lafoon Barnes.

She was retired telephone operator for Southwestern Bell/AT&T with over 40 years of service and was member of First United Methodist Church of Monticello. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Graves; a brother, Bill Barnes; and a sister, Bernice Waldrip.

Survivors include her sister, Janet Lawton of Russellville; a sister-in-law, Mavis Barnes of Monticello; three nieces, five nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Suzanne Zieman and Dalene Stephenson for their kindness, and to Glenda Strickland and the other care-givers at Belle View Estates for their wonderful care over the past year.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel by Rev. Dennis Spence. Visitation will be one hour preceding the service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Drew County.     Aunt Margaret (that's what she was to me), meant the world to me, she was always smiling and loved her family very much, we would sit and talk about them everyday she was there. She loved looking at the pics of all the kids. Simon being my grandson loved visiting her sometimes when he came to see us. Steele visited her after he would get off the bus at Belle View, she loved giving him hugs and a kiss on his cheek. Karen, Richard and Kim thank you for all you did for your aunt, she loved you all very much. I will truly miss her., You all will always be in my prayers. Love you all
