Wesley (AKA) Doc was a member of the Mt. Pleasant AME Church and also attended The Word and The Spirit Ministries of Star City, Arkansas. He retired from Burlington Industries after working over thirty years. He was a very devoted employee. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also loved dogs and agriculture.
Wesley was married to the late Bennie Jean Gragg Smith who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by John (Sarah) Smith, Reginald (Evelyn) Greene, and Gerald (Katrina) Shepherd, all of Monticello, Arkansas. He also survived by two sisters Dorothy (Hurbet) Martin of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Charlie Mae Jackson of Wilmar, Arkansas, five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
A Graveside Service will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 26, 2017 at Mt. Pleasant Campground Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday night at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
