Mr. Stone was a farmer, former employee of Federal Compress and has been a self-employed businessman in Monticello for many years. He was a member of the Center Missionary Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He was also a Master Mason and an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a half-sister, Beatrice Duncan; a brother, George Stone; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Robinson.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Bell Porter Stone of Monticello; two sons, David Stone and wife Jessica of Magnolia and Matt Stone and wife Jenny of Camden; one daughter Karen Robinson and husband Kenneth of Pine Bluff; six grandchildren, Laci Baugh, Silas Robinson, Jon Rocklan Stone, Kelly Garner, Mason Stone and Hillary Stone; and three great grandchildren, Peyton Baugh, Brooklyn Baugh and Lincoln Matthew Garner.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donnie Blackerby and Rev. Buddy Lemons officiating. Burial in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm. Saturday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Center Church Building Fund, 60 Cole Road, Rison,AR 71665.
