Bruce spent his early years in Hamburg, Arkansas, before moving to Hammond, Louisiana. He attended Louisiana Tech and served in the United States Marine Corps. In the mid 1960's, Bruce along with his dad and his brother, built Kentwood Brick and Tile Company in Kentwood, LA. Bruce was employed with Silvicraft for several years. Later, he moved to Monticello, Arkansas, where he was a tree farmer. He enjoyed working in the woods with his boss and friend of many years, Harold Smith. Bruce always looked forward to the beaver trapper Willie coming down every year to trap beavers in cold weather. They enjoyed many good times together. Bruce loved his immediate family, as well as his extended family, unconditionally. He loved to visit with family members, and he never missed a family reunion. He was a generous man who extended kindness to all he met.
