Kelley D. Grubbs, age 88 of Monticello, passed away Monday, January 14, 2019, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born December 28, 1930, in Possum Valley, AR to the late Nat Grubbs and Ida Bell Knowles Grubbs.

He was a self-employed businessman, United States Air Force Veteran and a member of the First United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Rose Curry Grubbs; a granddaughter, Madeline Grubbs; brothers Travis, Russell, and Keith Grubbs; and sisters Carolyn Grubbs Hancock and Amine Grubbs Deal.

Survivors include one daughter, Roselyn Busby and husband Bill of Monticello; one son, Nat Grubbs and wife Traci of Monticello; one brother, Calvin Grubbs and wife Audie Mae of Garland, TX; four grandchildren, Kelli Busby Chandler and husband Colin of The Woodlands, TX; William Busby and wife Katelyn from Monticello; Meredith Grubbs McKelvy and husband Philip from Little Rock, AR; Emily Grubbs from Starkville, MS; and four great grandchildren, Rory, Rose & Elizabeth Jane Chandler, and Henry Busby. He also enjoyed the dear friendship of Ms. Jane Thomasson.

He spent most of his 88 years doing work, telling tales, and cracking jokes. He will be missed! Memorials may be made to Monticello First United Methodist Church.

Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019 at First United Methodist Church with burial in Oakland Cemetery. Family visitation will be one hour preceding the service. Arrangements by Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
