Ruth Barrett Brown, age 88 of Monticello, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019 at The Woods Nursing and Rehab in Monticello. She was born August 25, 1930 in Warren, AR to the late J.B. "Burney" Barrett and Lucy Beard Barrett.

She was the widow of T. H. Brown, her husband of 64 years, a housewife and a member of First Baptist Church of Monticello. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Claudia Barrett Brown and Louise Barrett Bartley; and one brother, Monroe Barrett. Mrs. Ruth was very active in her church and loved her church family. She was an avid reader and always enjoyed her Bible study.

Survivors include one son, James Brown and wife Eddie of Monticello; two daughters, Carolyn Bloom of Hot Springs and Mary Jo Jenkins and husband Michael of Berea, KY; one brother, Bernard Barrett of Tucson, AZ; identical twin sister, Ruby Barrett Brown of Monticello; eight grandchildren, Sarah Bloom, Kerri Watson, Cory Brown, Casey Brown, Dustin Brown, Daniel Brown, Kimberly Jenkins and Matthew Jenkins; three great-grandchildren, Sarah Grace Watson, Will Watson and Webb Watson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery in Warren.
