Lewis had many careers over the course of his lifetime, but his one true love was as a cutting horse trainer. He began riding horses early in life and the passion never left him. He won many cutting horse competitions and was the National High School Rodeo Champion in 1969. Even while pursuing other careers, he still trained horses, and their riders, part time throughout his life.
Most importantly Lewis was a husband, a father, a grandfather and a friend. He was a mentor to many, leaving a legacy wherever he went. He was known for his dancing skills, quick wit and the way he made every person he met feel special and left them knowing they had a friend for life.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jimmy E Orrell, of Monticello; father-in-law, Glen Turpin, of Harrisburg, Ark.; and one brother-in-law, Bobbie Turpin, of Monticello.
He is survived by his wife Peggie Orrell, of Monticello; his mother, Sug Orrell, of Monticello; his daughters, Holly (Casey) McCone , Melissa Orrell, and Keeton Orrell and her fiancé Doug Temple, all of Monticello; his brothers, Jimmy Darrell (Linda) Orrell, of Monticello and Don (Toni) Orrell, of Fordland, Mo.; his grandchildren, Shelby Orrell, Zachary Hale, Maddison Hale, Bethany Chisholm and Ella Chisholm. Brother-in-law, Mark (Mary) Turpin, of Morrillton; and sisters-in-law, Glenda (Kenneth) Bryan, of Marion, and Jackie (Doyle) Tyler, of Monticello; mother-in-law, Tommie Turpin, of Monticello; nephews, Jonathan (Lisa) Turpin, Sean Bryan, Scott (Melanie) Bryan, John Mark Turpin, Darrell (Ashlee) Orrell, Carl (Ashley) Orrell, and Aaron Orrell; nieces, Carron(Eddie) Cates, Cristi Wessel, Carri (Bryan) Kleck, Kelli (Brad) McTigrit, Emily (James) Grishner and Anna (Clay) Henderson; and numerous great nieces and nephews, family and friends.
