Early on Tuesday morning before the dawn of a new day on July 13, 2010, our beloved Elease quietly slept as her courageous and humble spirit was triumphantly carried home to live with Jesus and her loved ones for an eternity of jubilation.

Katie 'Elease' Daniels was born in Drew County on October 9, 1931 to the late Minnie (Carr) Daniels and the late Leo Daniels. Shortly after the death of her mother, Elease went to live with her aunt and uncle, Sudie (Carr) and Earl Johnson, Sr. in Monticello, AR. After their death, she moved to North Chicago, IL and lived there with her cousins, Sylvia (Johnson) and Bobby Allen until Sylvia's death on May 10, 2010. Afterwards, she was in the loving and devoted care of her cousins, Andrea (Allen) and David Hudson.

Elease was a devoted Carr/Johnson family member and seemed more like a sister to all of us. She lived the majority of her life in Monticello and was a member of Pilgrim Rest A.M.E. Church. Elease never married and did not have any children. She had five siblings: Alexander Vick, Vernon, Eugene, Lanier, and Clementine. Her brothers preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory: two sisters, Lanier Wright and Clementine Lewis of California; devoted cousins Earl Johnson, Jr. of Monticello, AR; Vivian (Charles) Lincoln and Luwanda (Thedrick) Franklin of Fort Worth, TX; Andrea (David) Hudson and Beverly Allen of North Chicago, IL; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and love ones.
