After graduating from Drew Central High School in 1945, she became a schoolteacher at the Centerpoint School. She married W.K. Edwards in 1946 and moved with him to Ville Platte, Louisiana. She returned to Monticello in 1985 upon his passing and worked at Drew Memorial Hospital in the administrative and insurance department until her retirement. She enjoyed reading, sewing, watching cooking shows, Bob Ross painting shows, and the Gaither Family music. She was a faithful member of the Pleasant Springs Baptist Church where she served as Church Secretary for many years.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jean Tiner and Ann Tiner. She is survived by her brother Ben Tiner and sister Nell Camden both of Monticello, Step-Grandchildren Martin Latiolis of Lafayette, Louisiana, Paul Latiolis of Oregon and Sister Virginia Latioilis of Baton Rouge Louisiana as well as a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 14th at Pleasant Springs Cemetery at 2:00 with visitation at 1:00. Memorials can be made to the Pleasant Springs Cemetery Association or the Pleasant Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
