Kevon Lee Taylor was born June 26, 1976, in Monticello, Arkansas, to the late Earl Lee Taylor and Joyce Kaye Ollison. Kevon was affectionally known as "Chuck" to many.
Kevon grew up in Wilmar, Arkansas where he attended Wilmar School then later consolidated to Drew Central. He was a graduate in the class of 1995. After graduation he started working at Popeye's where he was employed for 5 years, later he became an employee at Wal-Mart where he remained until his health failed.
Kevon was a member of Shady Grove A.M.E. Church under the leadership of Rev. Thelma Harden where he confessed his faith at an early age.
Kevon had a passion for sports. Anything you wanted or needed to know about any sport, he could tell you. He loved sitting out watching his nieces and laughing and talking about the good old days.
Kevon was preceded in death by his father, Earl Lee Taylor; his grandparents, Richard Swift, Albert Taylor, and Gertrude Taylor; his uncles, Mark Ollison, James Durden, and Carl Taylor; one cousin, Deontra Ollison.
Kevon leaves to cherish his loving mother, Joyce Kaye Taylor of Wilmar, Arkansas; two sisters, LaShonda Taylor-Christian (Jason) and LaTonya Bassett (Randy) both of Monticello, Arkansas; one brother, Brandon Taylor of Wilmar, Arkansas; one God-daughter, Ajhane Simpson of Monticello, Arkansas; one nephew, Javion Robinson whom he loved dearly; three nieces that melted his heart, JaNiyah Bassett, JaKyra Taylor, and JaKyla Taylor; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and a very special cousin that has been close with him since childhood and still until his passing, Demetric Spencer.
A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, July 1, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel.
