Mr. Hall graduated from Arkansas A&M (now the University of Arkansas at Monticello) in 1965, with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Science. He earned a Master of Science in Education Administration from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1971. Immediately after graduating from Arkansas A&M, he and Annette were hired by the Crossett School District as teachers, where he taught Jr. High P.E. and science. In 1967, he went to the Drew Central School District as the elementary principal. After one year, he moved to the high school, where he served as principal until 1972.
In 1972 Mr. Hall went to the Monticello School District as high school principal, where he served until 1994. After 22 years at the high school, he was promoted to Assistant Superintendent. In the 1996-97 school year, the Monticello School Board asked him to serve as interim superintendent. During his one year as interim superintendent, he brought a sense of positive morale and stability to the district, which was recognized by administrators, faculty, students, and the community as a whole. Afterward, he remained as assistant superintendent until his retirement in 2002. After announcing his retirement, he was asked to return to the district as the athletic director, which he did for another 13 years. He fully retired in 2015 after a career in education that spanned 50 years, 43 of which were in the Monticello District.
Outside of work, Mr. Hall was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, but his true love was crappie fishing. He fished year-round at every opportunity. He was also a very good gardener, raising vegetables that he loved to freeze, can, and share with his family and friends.
He was a member of the Oak Grove Assembly of God, serving the church as a deacon for 54 years. He also served the church as Sunday School Superintendent and song leader. Of all the areas he served in the church, his most enjoyment came from teaching the adult Sunday School class, which he did faithfully for 44 years.
Survivors include two sons, Dane Hall of Monticello, and Christopher Todd Hall of Henderson, NV; two grandchildren, Garrett Hall of Las Vegas, NV, and Abigail Wade (Grayson) of Sherwood, AR. He is also survived by a special friend and companion, Pat Ferrell, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Monticello, AR Monday, July 19, 2021 To the family: I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Hall was one of my favorite people. He was my Driver's Education teacher when I was a 1968 DCHS Senior. Being a farm girl, I tried to drive the Driver's Ed car like I drove my Daddy's old tractor: really slow & without the use of turn-signals. He also taught my Mother to drive in1975, when she was 50. Between the two of us, I'm sure we caused him many scary moments, but he was always patient & kind. He has remained my good friend through the years & I shall truly miss him. The world has lost a wonderful Christian man. May God bless & comfort you.Sharon Hoppers Barnes & Family
Naples, FL Sunday, July 18, 2021 Dane & Todd, your father was such an important person in my family’s life, and he was a great friend to my father Rev. Leslie Wayne Hoppers. My Dad & your Dad had more fun hunting, fishing and going frog gigging together. I could never stand to watch them skin a frog in the backyard together nor would I partake of eating one, but my what fun they had! Your father was someone that everyone looked up to and he was much loved by all the students and by all his church family. He made an impact on everyone he came in contact with. You can be sure your father has joined your mother in Heaven. May God bless you both during your time of sorrow and give you strength.Roger and Wanda Pierce
