James is survived by his wife Peggy Clifton of 44 years of marriage. They were married in Monticello, AR on June 25, 1977. He graduated from Drew High School and then began his career as a logger and worked for LD Long Inc and Ralph Hunter until he retired in 2019. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to fish with his wife Peggy and his parents James and Eupharzine Clifton. He loved to farm and grow vegetables for his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his half-brother Wallace Clifton and half-sister Emma Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Peggy Clifton of Monticello, AR; one son, Derrick Clifton of Monticello, AR; one daughter, Essica Clifton of North Little Rock, AR; two grandchildren Dasha and Destiny Clifton of Monticello, AR; one sister Bertha(Sonny) Harrison of Milwaukee, WI; five half-brothers LaBryant Johnson and Bradford(Rosetta) of Milwaukee, WI, Ray(Lois) Johnson of Dallas, Texas, Howard(Vivian) Johnson of St. Paul, MN, and Paul(Tiffany) Johnson of Spartanburg, SC; one half-sister Renee Johnson of Milwaukee, WI; brother-in-law Willis(Kim) Hokes of Monticello, AR; special aunt Ollie Mae Gragg of Cornerville, AR and a host of relatives and friends.
