I served in the Army.
Decedric Cortes ''Ced'' Harris was born on September 11, 1974, to Juanita Harris Freeman and the late Bobby Alexander Harden in Monticello, AR. He was raised in Monticello, attended Monticello Schools, and was a 1994 graduate of Monticello High School. He confessed his belief in the birth, death, and resurrection Jesus Christ and joined Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church in Monticello. Ced was called from this earthly habitat to serve again as a special soldier on December 20, 2021, while in the John L. McClellan Veteran Hospital in Little Rock, AR.
Ced joined the United States Army in 2009, stationed in Fort Leonard, MO where he became disabled and moved to Fort Worth, TX. He was a mild-mannered and loveable person who really enjoyed sports, but his greatest love was for people and his family whom he dearly loved. Ced moved home to Conway, AR and lived with his mother until his death.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two grandmothers, Gloria Nell Harris and Bernice Jordan; two grandfathers, Arthur R. Harris and John L. Harden; and three uncles, Frederick E. Harris, Steve Harris and John L. Harden.
He is survived by his loving mother, Juanita Freeman of Conway; three brothers, Andre Freeman and Galen Freeman (Laquita) all of Conway and Demetric Freeman (Lisa) of Maumelle; two grandmothers, Verlenda Harris of Monticello and Betty Harden of Pine Bluff; six aunts, Jacqueline Thompson, Gloria Harris and Corrie Harris all of Monticello, Sondra Johnson of Biloxi, MS, Meshonda Donahoo (Marcus) of Conway and Betty Harden of Lawton, OK; twelve uncles, Arthur L.
