He retired from USDA- Food and Nutrition Service where he last served as Officer In Charge of the Little Rock Field Office and was a United States Army Veteran. Bobby was a member of Carter Hunting Club for over 50 years and loved to hunt and fish. He was also on the Board of Directors of Farm Bureau, Barkada Fire Department, and Barkada Water Association and was a Drew County Election Commissioner. He was a Presbyterian and served as a Deacon but also attended Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church.
Bobby was wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, as well a loyal friend, and was loved by so many. He will be be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Ann Doss.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Sandy Orsburn Hood of Monticello; one son, Bobby Joe Hood, II and wife Christie of Forney, TX; and three grandchildren; Haley Hood, Brianna Hood and Alyssa Hood.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charles Kendrick and Rev. Ab Pevey officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery at Rye. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

I remember working in the tomatoes fields with the Hoods and I remember when Bob moved from Little Rock to Monticello and my father made sure that my brothers helped him with what ever he needed.
