Louise Mildred McPherson Barnett Palmer, age 99 of Monticello, AR, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Bradley County Medical Center in Warren, AR. She was born April 20, 1923, in Monroe, LA to the late William McPherson and Lula Doughty McPherson McGhee.
She was a retired employee of Burlington Industries and a longtime active member of Second Baptist Church of Monticello. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by husbands, Onis Noel Barnett and James Harold Palmer; a granddaughter, Kristi Lynne Miller; a son-in-law, T.O. Miller; her stepfather, J.W. McGhee; two step brothers and four step sisters.
Mrs. Louise was a wonderful cook, enjoyed working in her yard growing beautiful flowers where she and her husband Harold received the Chamber of Commerce Yard of the Month Award several times. She also enjoyed traveling, especially camping in the Arkansas State Parks with the Good Sam's Club. In her later years, her sunroom was the place she sat and read her Bible, watched birds, watched game shows on television along with doing word search books. Her family stayed busy supplying her with those books. Mrs. Louise was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, a very devoted friend to many, loved her church and church family with all her heart, a prayer warrior and an immaculate housekeeper.
She is survived by a daughter, Rachel Miller Pevey and husband Abner of Monticello; a son, James Palmer of Woodlawn; grandchildren, Kim Mashburn and husband Dennis of Bryant, Marty Noel Miller of Bryant and Jennifer Winkelpleck and husband Brian of Dewitt; and great grandchildren, Tyler Miller Mashburn, Danielle Lynn Mashburn, Emma Grace Winkelpleck and Josie Raye Winkelpleck.
