She was a retired cook and housekeeper and attended Wilmar High School. She confessed her life at an early age at Pentecostal Flame Church of God in Christ in Warren, AR. When her health began to fail, she watched television services and spoke regularly with her Pastor Robert Marshall, Sr. minister of Church of God in Christ in Monticello, Arkansas who also paid her many visits.
Elnor has always been a homemaker. She loved to cook and wanted to feed everyone she saw. She cooked in various kitchens around Monticello. She also loved to fish and spend time with her family. Elnor is preceded in death by her husband, Burl Grays; daughters, Alline and Toni Grays; siblings, Laron Clifton, Lloyd Clifton, Agrone Clifton, Helen (Clifton) Gardner and Maureen (Clifton) McKinley.
She leaves to cherish her memory her only son, Calvin Grays of Monticello; five daughters, Genetta Thorns and Pamela Grays both of Pine Bluff, Deborah Hudspeth of Flint, MI, Maria Grays of Dallas, TX and Likeyshan Grays of Monticello; one brother, James Clifton of Monticello; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She also leaves two family members that were her best friend, niece Patricia Clifton of Chicago, IL and cousin Mammie Jones of Wilmar, AR.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Wilmar Cemetery.
