He graduated from Altheimer High School and the University of Arkansas. Max was a hospital administrator and insurance company auditor. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955 as an aircraft loadmaster. His religious affiliations were with the Methodist and Baptist denominations.
He was buried at Enon Cemetery in Monticello, Arkansas next to his wife Peggy Gaylene (Fincher) Mosenthin, who preceded him in death on December 9, 2009.
Max was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Augustav Mosenthin and William Lewis Mosenthin.
He is survived by a sister, Mary Frances Mattick of Scotts Valley, California, a stepdaughter, and ten nieces and nephews.
