Mrs McCoy was a force of nature! She was a wonderful, caring teacher and a positive influence in my life and the lives of so many others. Later in life, waaay past 6th grade, when I became an adult we were friends. She was a lovely lady and an inspiration. She will be missed by many. Love to her family.

    To the McCoy Family:
What an amazing lady! She was an inspiration and role model to so many young people that were blessed to have her as a teacher. She was our sixth grade teacher. We both have so many amazing memories of our time in her classroom. Her ability to keep all her students engaged and learning was truly a gift. One of the most remarkable talents she had was to never forget her students and of course their “shenanigans” while in her class. The stories she could tell were always hilarious. We enjoyed our visits with her as we grew older. Mrs. Monteene, we love you so much! Thank you for loving all of us and thank you for caring about our lives after we left your classroom! You were definitely our angel on earth! The class of 1978 will never forget you! Thoughts and prayers are with you all.

    Dear Family of Mrs. McCoy,
I am sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was my 6th grade teacher in the old Monticello High School Gym. I absolutely adored your mother. I remember our class celebrating her 40th birthday when an announcement came over the intercom system that President John Kennedy had been killed. We children were all so young but knew it was a terrible thing that had happened. You all are in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time.

    Sincerely,
    Sharon

I have so many wonderful memories of your mom. So sorry to hear of her passing, but oh what a wonderful full life with which she was blessed. She was by far my very favorite teacher!! And we had a special bond in that she gave me one of her cat’s kittens. I had that cat until I was a sophomore in college. We always laughed about it because she thought she gave me a girl kitten, but turned out to be a boy!! I know you will miss her terribly, but how fortunate you are to have had her for so long. May God wrap his arms of strength, comfort and peace around you and your families.🙏🏻😢

Ronnie & Pat, I’m so sorry for the loss of your sweet mom . She had a long and beautiful life . She was my sweet feisty sixth grade teacher that I thought a lot of . Later years I would see her working at the hospital and she would share memories of things our class had done . Especially those mischievous boys ! The girls were always good . I’m sending hugs and prayers for you all during this difficult time .
