He was a retired welder and rigger for Seark Boats and a Christian. Charles loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing and playing with his grandkids. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Paul Nelson.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Barnett Nelson of Monticello; his children, Nellie White and Roy D. White both of Monticello; one brother, Gary Nelson of Texas; two sisters, Juanita Darby and Lisa Maggard both of Monticello; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren with another on the way; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Tabernacle of Faith Church in Monticello with Pastor Terry A. Norris officiating. You can sign Charles' guestbook page on this website.
