He was a retired Telecommunications Project Manager at Motorola, United States Navy Korean War Veteran who served as a naval communications officer.
Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, billiards, studying horse racing, watching and studying all sports, playing ''fantasy football'', and working March Madness brackets. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Ella Ree Tucker Rice; stepfather, Rev., Frank Alvin Hesselbein; one sister, Joyce Jean Carmical Hines; a half-brother, Rev. Paul Hesselbein; and a daughter, Ruth Ellen Rice.
He is survived by two sons, Harold L. Rice, Jr. ''Hal'' and wife Sandy of Little Rock and John A. Rice of North Little Rock; one daughter, Cheryl A. Rice of North Little Rock; two grandsons, Harold L. Rice, III (Trey) of Little Rock and Matthew J. Rice and wife Caryn of Magnolia, TX; and two great grandchildren, Ella Beth Rice and Tucker Hale Rice of Magnolia, TX.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel in Monticello, AR. Graveside Services with military honors will be Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at Oakland Cemetery in Monticello, AR.

A solid man with an amazing depth of knowedge and understanding.
