She received her education while living in California and also attended the Dumas School District. Throughout her earlier years in life, she helped her parents by picking cotton on just about every square foot of the Pickens Farm in Dumas. Brenda also helped her parents with all the household chores of cooking and cleaning all while her two younger siblings would undo it all in the blink of an eye, especially her baby brother Ricky. He loved to roll around in the dirt and then go running through the house leaving dirt everywhere. ''Rumor has it'' she used to tie Ricky and Beverly to a tree so she could clean the house.
Brenda went on to have one daughter. While raising her, she earned her Beauty School License and was a hairdresser for many years. She later began working for Simmons First National Bank for several years. While working for SFNB, she was also a very successful business owner. She was a Home Interior and Gifts Distributor and Faye Swafford Original Distributor.
Preceded in death by her parents, Tee and Freda Spears, she was also preceded in death by one brother, William Marvin Spears; grandparents, Marvin and Ada Spears, Robert Caroll Chalk and Emma Mae Willis Chalk; and two great-great nephews.
Survivors include Renee Payne (David), Tyler (Krista), Spencer (Lexy), Carson Payne, Austyn Payne, and Braxton Payne; one sister, Beverly Bunting (Rick); one brother, Ricky Spears (Tina); one Nephew, William Spears; six nieces, Becky Jarrell (Alan), Marie Shirley (Audie), Amanda Stevens (Steven), Amye Yount (Robert), Ashley Gober (Zach), and Heather Rogers; six great nieces, eight great nephews, four great-great nieces and seven great-great nephews.
