He served in the US Army and was a retired carpenter. He and his business partners built many homes across the state until his retirement. Even after retirement, he helped build two homes for his daughter and son-in-law. He loved to hunt and fish with his nephews and his friends until his health no longer allowed it.
He was raised in Star City and lived there until he moved to Monticello in 2011. In 2022, he moved to Grand Manor and later moved to Belleview Estates when his health further declined. He attended Rose Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by fourteen brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Gay and Grant Pace of Monticello; his grandson, Brice Pace; and great-granddaughter, Rosy of North Little Rock.
The family would like to thank the staff of Grand Manor for the transition of moving to assisted living and to the staff of Belleview Estates and Dr. Jim Carmical for taking such good care of him during the last year of his life.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2024, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Star City, AR. Memorials may be made to Drew County Log a Load for Kids; 111 Scenic Drive Monticello, AR 71655 or SEARK Miracle League; PO Box 680 Monticello, AR 71657.
