He was a retired carpenter and a Baptist. Mr. Bayird was a master gardener and loved to fish and build birdhouses. Over the years, he has built many birdhouses and gave them away to friends and family. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Ouida Annette McCuan Bayird, daughter-in-law, Sandy Bayird; grandson-in-law, Lee Baggett; an infant daughter, Charlotte; and a brother, Sam Bayird.
Mr. Bayird is survived by two sons, Andy Bayird and wife Jessica of Monticello and another son and his wife from Cabot; one daughter, Pam Henry and husband Ricky of Monticello; two brothers, J.M. Bayird of Watson and Earl Bayird of Monticello; grandchildren, Christine McCloud and husband Ricky, J.J. Bayird and wife Kristina and Holly Hargis; great-grandchildren, Jessica Davis and husband Joseph, Dillon Baggett, Elizabeth Self, Jimmy Self, Breanna Bayird, Brayson Bayird, Stella Bayird, Amelia Bayird, Dixie Worrell, Lily Henry and Rocky Henry; one great-great grandchild, Hudson Davis; a sister-in-law, Janette Breeding; along with numerous cousins, relatives and friends.
The family would like to issue a special thank you to Belle View Estates Nursing and Rehab, Arkansas Hospice, Gayle Hayden, and Ricky and Linda Breeding for the care they gave Mr. Bayird.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. You can sign Mr. Bayird's guestbook registry on this page.
