Essie was a homemaker that loved her children and grandchildren. She loved to cook, sewing, fixing puzzles, fishing and working in her yard. She was loved by many.
She is survived by two sons, Eddie Jones and wife La Donna, and Terry Ray both of Monticello, AR; one daughter, Diane Jones Harris of Monticello; one brother, Freddie Ray and wife Shendina of Monticello; a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends; one special friend, Jessie Mae Polk; six grandchildren, Terence, Alexis, Reshaud, Charmine, Ja'Marcus, and Ja'Quarius; and seventeen great grandchildren, Zaedin, Ja'Varian, Paige, Katon, Channing, Peyton, Ariah, Aadem, Kyree, Kinsley, Karley, Kahlanli, Ja'Liyah, London, Rhyan, Nyla, and ZYair.
Visitation will be Friday, October 4, 2024, from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024, in the Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
