Shirley L. Smith Vance, 76 of Benton, passed away Friday, February 11, 2011 at her home in Benton. She was born January 7, 1935 in Pine Bluff.

She was the widow of Robert Floyd Vance, Sr. and John Burney Vance, a retired business owner and a Baptist. She was the daughter of the late Henry Vincent Smith and Anna Mae Smith.

Survivors include two sons, Robert F. Vance, Jr. of McGehee and Charles Alan Vance of Huron, Ohio; one daughter, Sallie Smith of Benton; one sister, Helen Casey of Michigan; three grandsons, Bryan Smith of Benton, Charles Lee McPherson of McGehee and Kevin Thompson of McGehee; four granddaughters, Melissa Rondeau of Grand Prairie, TX, Crystal Eckhardt of Rogers, AR, Holly Vance and Stacia Nagel, both of Benton; seven great grandchildren.
