Willie John Sanders, 74, passed away at his home in Monticello. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a great friend to many. He was born January 2, 1937 in Drew County.

He was a Christian and a member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church. On September 21, 1956 he and Sallie Irene Burr were united in marriage. Together they had two children, William A. and Becky M, whom he loved very much. After working at the Coca Cola plant for 28 years, he became a successful business owner, opening his own transmission repair shop.

Preceding him in death were his parents, William Harvey Sanders and Emma Irene Trantham Sanders, his daughter Becky Marie Knight, two brothers, Arthur Sanders and Bob A. Sanders.

He is survived by his wife, Sallie Irene Sanders of Monticello; one son, William Sanders and wife Theresa of Star City; one sister Hazel Potts of Monticello; grandchildren Angela Sanders of Judsonia, Tina Goodwin and husband Jason of Cabot, Michael Knight and fiancee' Christie Crow of Crossett and Julie Gardner and husband Bubba of Monticello; great-grandchildren, Anna Goodwin, William Gardner, Brayson and Eythan Knight and Jordan Carter.

My wife, & I were honored to have him, & Mrs. Irene at our reception on July 15th, 2007. He will be greatly missed. The Sanders Family are all in our prayers, during this time of loss.
