Mrs. Carter relocated to Pine Bluff with her husband in 1956 to start a family business, American Sheet Metal, where she worked daily as bookkeeper and corporate treasurer for over fifty years. A dedicated Christian, Mrs. Carter was a member of the 40th and Hazel Street Church of Christ where she faithfully attended until her health began to fail. Even then, her dear friends supported and encouraged her through her remaining days. Mrs. Carter enjoyed working in the yard, visiting with family and friends, and telling stories about days gone by.
Survivors include her three sons: Max Carter and wife, Jackie, of Oakton, Virginia, Charles Carter and wife, Karen, of Maumelle, and Keith Carter and wife, Rachel, of Pine Bluff. She also leaves five grandchildren: Julie Carter of Seattle, Washington, Jason Carter and wife, Rebecca, of North Little Rock, Joshua Carter of Little Rock, Jeremy Carter of Little Rock, and Kristen Johnson, and husband, Keith, of Benton; along with four great-grandchildren: Jacob, Faith, and Sarah Carter of North Little Rock, and Isaac Johnson of Benton.

San Angelo, Texas, TX Saturday, May 14, 2011 Aunt Neva is so dear to me. She and Uncle Ed would always come and visit in the summers when I would be at Mother's in Monticello and it was such a special time. I am assured of this fact. It is not goodbye to Aunt Neva because she is in our future. We will see her and Uncle Ed again. My heart was always touched by her love for God and her family. She has left me with many treasured memories.Gwen Reed

Catoosa, OK Friday, May 13, 2011 Aunt Neva displayed an exemplary life of a Christian lady who was always there for those in need. Her hospitality was unmatched by anyone I knew. She was a leader in so many ways; her home, her work, her church, and of course, her family. It is ladies such as she that I never expect to die. She has left a huge space in the life on this planet. I do know that she will simply take a huge place in her life on the "Other Side."Judy Kirkley
