May your grief be eased by knowing his peace in the arms of our Lord. Lester was one of the first SGT's to pick on me (in his own jovial way) when I joined the guard. I later had the privilege to serve as the 1122d Trans. Co. Commander, and I always sought his insight. Lester was a leader of men (and women) because he honestly cared about his soldiers. He was a gift in my life, and I am thankful.

May God keep you and your family during this most difficult time.

JJ, JOEY AND JEFF...JUST READ ABOUT YOUR DAD. WE WOULD HAVE COME TO TO SEE YOU ALL TONIGHT IF WE HAD KNOWN. LESTER ALWAYS TALKED ABOUT HIS THREE J'S...HE LOVED HIS COUNTRY. EVERYONE THAT KNEW HIM WOULD SAY THE SAME THING. BENNIE AND I WILL PRAY FOR YOU ALL TONIGHT. WISH WE COULD SEE YOU. LESTER IS IN HEAVEN NOW WITH NO PAIN AND IF YOU ALL HAVE BEEN BORN AGAIN ..THEN ONE DAY WHEN GOD CALLES YOU HOME YOU WILL BE WITH HIM. WE LOVE ALL.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Lester's family, particularly the three sons who my boys (Richie and Rusty Fong) grew up with. I taught several of the boys in Children's Church and grew to love each of them. I remember hearing the boys talk with pride about their dad's military activities such as flying a helicopter. May God grant peace and happy memories to all survivors.

It has been a while since I see you all but please know that I am praying for the family. My memories will always be the good times we had when Lester and my dad worked for the City of Monticello. I will always love you all.
