He was a retired millwright and a Baptist. He was the son of the late Dan Potter and Alma Jones Potter and was preceded in death by one son, Paul Potter; one daughter, Sheila Potter, one great-granddaughter, Sheila Diane Potter and one brother, Arlie Potter.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Ray Potter of Collins; one son, Allan Dee Potter of Plainview, AR; one sister, Alta Hestor of Danville, AR; four grandchildren, Paul O'Neil, April, Corinna and Miranda; eight great-grandchildren.
