Mother received her early education in Wilmar School System. She graduated in 1949 as valedictorian and received a scholarship to Shorter College in Little Rock. Her early religious teachings began in the A.M.E. Church where she served as usher for several years. She was also an Eastern Star.
Our Mother loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spoiled them rotten but insisted that they always be respectful. She loved spending time with all of them and looked forward to their visits.
On May 5, 2002 Mother was baptized as one of the Jehovah's Witnesses and continued attending the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness.
Mother departed this life on Tuesday July 31, 2012 in a Little Rock hospital.
She leaves to cherish her memories: five children, Linda (James) Brison of Saint Louis, MO, Wanda (Darryl) Jones of Moore, OK, Jacqueline (Charles) White, Janice Corneal and Ronnie Simmons all of Wilmar, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Tonya, Marc, Kendra, Eric, Magen, Donovan and Robyn; thirteen great-grandchildren; one aunt, Lillie Clifton of Houston, TX; cousin, best friend and confidant Birdie Jarmon of Detroit, MI as well as a host of nieces, nephews other cousins and friends.

The death of Mrs. Ollie M Simmons is most definitely not a blind alley that leads her into a state of nothingness, but an open door that leads her to everlasting life for she truly loved God. To Linda Brison and members of the family during this period of bereavement and condolence may God be with and upon you and that you rest assured your Mom fought a good fight and kept the faithPat Brooks
