Marguerite Woods Hudgens, age 91, of Hot Springs, formerly of Monticello passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014 in the Pines Nursing home in Hot Springs. She was born on January 9, 1923 to James Gaston Woods and Alma Estelle Johnson Woods.

She was the widow of William P. (Bill) Hudgens, Jr., and during her career she served as a teacher, coach, an office manager and a nursing home administrator. She received her education from Drew Central High School, and Arkansas A & M. One of her loves was being a Sunday School Teacher. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Gaston Woods, her mother, Alma Estelle Johnson Woods, a brother, Thomas K. (Billy Tom) Woods, her husband, William P. (Bill) Hudgens, Jr. and one son, Jerry Lynn Hudgens.

She is survived by two sons, Terry Hudgens of Hot Springs, and Dennis Hudgens of Bryant, Grandsons Wayne Hudgens (Tonya) , and Jeff Hudgens (Milca), Dr. Jay Hudgens (Marlana), Granddaughters Nikki Cook (Billy), and Shea Harrell (Brad), step-grandchildren, Missy Newcomb and husband, Rob and Bill Fortenberry, and also seven great grandchildren.
