He was a self employed mobile home repairman and a Baptist. He was the son of the late Gurvis L. Johnson, Sr. and Cassie Nelson Johnson and was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Paula Sue Johnson.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Bonita Finnell Johnson of Monticello; two daughters, Elloise Foshee-Hales and Deborah Arrington, both of Monticello; two brothers, Max Johnson and John Ray Johnson, both of Fordyce; one sister, Alice Jordan of Monticello; three grandsons, Michael and Brian Foshee and B. J. Arrington; three great-grandchildren, Jaci Foshee and Marke and Johnny Brower Foshee; many more family and friends.

Bonita, you may have forgotten me but we worked together in Payroll at Burlington and I worked with both Eloise and Deborah in the ER at DMH. You were all such a fine family. I remember you all having very close family ties. I know this loss seems almost unbearable but by the Grace of God you will make it thru and see each other again!!!
