Mr Ngar was a good friend, educator, mentor and a family man. He has touched so many students who are parents and grand parents of students enrolled in DC today. The buildings may crumble and fall but Mr Ngar will live on in our hearts and in our minds. I will listen on those clear nights for the familiar words any of his students have heard, "People, people, people" Mr Ngar you will be missed but never forgotten.

Mr. Ngar gave me my first teaching job. Oh my I was a mess that first couple of years but he always encouraged me to grow. He always said it take 3 years to get it right. He was right, it got much better. He knew I wanted to be an administrator and when that opportunity came along he allowed me to leave. Something I shall aways be greatful. I never really thought of him as my employer but my very good friend. He was a good man. To the family I am so sorry for your loss. I am a better person for knowing him.

Dear Sylvia, Jonathan, Christopher, Jennifer, Spouses & Children,
I was very sad to hear of your loss Sunday morning in church services. I have very fond memories of Leeman. He was my world history practice teacher in high school under Mrs. Shorty Beard. I thought Mrs. Beard was the toughest most strict teacher I had ever had, but, Leeman surpassed her by leaps and bounds. I had great respect for him in his very young teaching career, he was an excellent teacher.
Your family has always been so special to me and especially my Mom when she was alive. My Mom loved all of you so much, and Sylvia you were always there to do her hair.
I share in your sorrow and know that I will continue to pray the Lord will sustain all of you with His abundant love.
Much love to all of you,
    Sharon

Dear Sylvia, Jonathan, Christopher, and Jennifer,

I am thinking this morning about all of you and will see you tonight. Mr. Ngar ( I have a hard time calling him Leeman) meant so much to me. He was so supportive. I remember 9/11. He came by my room and stood with me for a while while we watched the events unfold. There was an old TV in my room which only received one channel. Another time he stood with me was when I frist went back to work after our grandaughter was born with a severe heart condition. Other times he just seemed to know when I needed someone to stand by me. I will surely miss him.

Our love to all of you,
    Janice and Fred Taylor

Mr. Ngar was truly a significant part of my education and a great example to the thousand’s of students that came through Drew Central during his era. He was an impressive disciplinary that seemed to really love his job. I was always amazed that he could remember the names of about every student that came through DCHS. I can still hear him coming down the halls with his keys and change rattling in his pockets. “People, people clear the halls” He will be missed by all who knew him.
