Mildred Bordeaux Jones, age 89, of Monticello passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011 at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. She was born December 25, 1921 in Drew County, AR to the late Daniel T. Bordeaux and Lena McNeese Bordeaux.

She was the widow of William H. 'Billy' Jones, Sr., a homemaker and a member of the Enon Baptist Church. She loved gardening and flowering and most of all, her family. She really loved her church, community and was a longtime member of the EHC. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Billie Carol Johnson; three brothers, Cecil, Buddy and Pete Bordeaux; and two sisters, Mable Trotter and Hazel Miles.

Survivors include two sons, Richard E. Jones of Louisville, KY and Bill Jones and wife, Joyce of Monticello; five grandchildren, Tonya, Michael, Laurel, Dale and Steve; nine great grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

    Mildred was a family friend and very dear friend of my Mother Jane Sosh. When my mother died on December 14th of this year, one of the people I called was Mildred. When I got the message that her phone was no longer in service, I did a search. They died within a month of each other. Now they're together free of pain and illness.

    Mildred was a wonderful lady and a wonderful mother-in-law. She was very good to me and my children. I'm sorry that I was enable to attend the funeral, my love, thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I am so glad that I went to see her and her family last March. I have a lot of good memories with her.

    It was a true pleasure to know and love Mrs. Mildred Jones. I treasure the memory of attending Enon Church and E.H.C. club with her. Mrs. Mildred and my Mother-in-law Mrs. Jimmie Berry were the best of girlfriends and she always ask about Mrs. Berry while she was alive.

    She will be missed and her memory loved.
